Mobile Assignments
Goals
To reproduce an existing Cordova PhoneGap application using Xamarin to ensure long-term maintainability.
Challenges
There was no institutional knowledge regarding the app, and none of the APIs were properly documented.
Deadlines
Mobile Assignments was one of three applications which needed to be converted to Xamarin before a critical deployment SaaS went offline in six months.
Mobile Efficiency
Mobile Assignments was built to function as a front-line user’s tool for interacting with Aramark Healthcare’s highly successful Facility Fit Pro service. This app allows housekeeping and transportation staff to get new assignments as required, while keeping supervisors in the loop in real-time.
Six Month Deadline
Six months seemed like plenty of time for one application, but all THREE needed to be brought online in that time frame, or the business was going to suffer. I was able to meet the deadline with time to spare, with zero interruption to service.
Recreate the existing application.
Confirming business requirements are met.
Fixing existing bugs in the logic and API.
Original authors of the app were no longer available, and the API was not well documented.
Hard deadline of six months to recreate and update three applications from the suite.
